Summing Up the End of 2014

After a few months, I'm due for an update. I'm not even sure where to start, but we'll see where this goes.

For the sake of memorabilia, we celebrated Paul's first Halloween, which is a holiday I don't really care to invest in at this stage of my life. Maybe when the kids are older, but now, all I care to do is document them in their costumes.

This isn't what Lucy wore for Halloween, but it might as well have been, because all we did was put her in one of her Sunday dresses and said, "She's a princess."

Paul got to be a pumpkin, Lucy's first costume, and I think he shares my sentiment regarding Halloween.

In November, we finally had Paul blessed. We took the opportunity once we realized nearly everyone was going to be in Utah around thanksgiving. So we took care of it at David's grandparents' home.

Our little family.

When we returned home, I made an effort to catch Paul smiling on camera for the first time.

He has such an adorable smile. It makes me want to hug him and squeeze him all day long.

If you look closely, you can see he has a dimple.

At Christmas time (yes, I know I'm speeding through the past few months) we went David's mom's where we spent the day at the zoo. Lucy got to feed a giraffe.

She at least gave it a couple of leaves until she saw the tongue. Then she decided she didn't want to feed it anymore.

It was kind of chilly, but overall it was pretty pleasant weather to be outside. I didn't wear a coat most of the time.

Here David is showing Lucy the flamingos.

If you're wondering where I am in all these pictures, here's proof I was there. Always ironic that the person taking the pictures is never in any pictures. But I spent the whole day lugging this kid around, who had gone through a growth spurt and my arms hadn't had much time to adjust to his new weight. Thank goodness for baby carriers though.

David spent most of the time carrying Lucy. At one point, it was obvious she needed a nap when she couldn't seem to keep her eyes open. So we tried putting her in the stroller to get some sleep.

Looking at the sting rays.

David was trying to get Lucy to pet one with him. I don't remember if she ever did. But she seemed fascinated anyway.

All in all, it was a fun day at the zoo. And I will return to make another update, hopefully soon.
